Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules:

Is COVID test/vaccination certificate mandatory before travel?

All travellers must carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test not taken more than 72 hours before departure or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken at most 48 hours before departure.
The above test is not required for:
1. children younger than 6 years
2. nationals and residents of Argentina
3. travellers who in the past 14 days have stayed in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, or Uruguay.
Those who have been infected in the last 90 days prior to admission, must present PCR or positive antigen test and medical discharge, having elapsed at least 10 days from the date of onset of symptoms or diagnostic test. People positive for close contact should be discharged at least 10 days after the date of onset of symptoms.
Travellers must carry a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival.
The vaccination certificate is not required for:
1. nationals and residents of Argentina,
2. travellers younger than 18 years

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians?

No quarantine for those with a valid vaccination certificate and negative RT-PCR test.

Other Guidelines

All travellers must have health insurance to cover COVID-19 expenses, except nationals and residents of Argentina.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

Travel to Australia is open for all fully vaccinated visa-holder Indians without quarantine. Unvaccinated visa holders need to be in an exempt category to travel to Australia. Is COVID test/vaccination certificate mandatory before travel?

It is mandatory for all travellers to carry a negative COVID-19 test, with a sample taken 72 hours before departure or a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken at most 24 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. More details can be found at here.
Note: Children aged 4 years (or below) and people with specific medical conditions will be exempted from taking the pre-departure test.
Effective from 18 April 2022, travellers will not be required to undertake a COVID-19 pre-departure test before boarding their flight.
All fully-vaccinated travellers must carry a valid International Vaccination Certificate which includes traveller’s name, date of birth, vaccine brand name, and date of each dose. Note: Children aged under 12 years and 3 months are exempt from showing this certificate and can enter Australia. Find more information here.
A list of accepted vaccines includes Covishield, Covaxin, Vaxzevria, Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Janssen. To be considered fully vaccinated, 14 days must have passed since the final dose.
Non-vaccinated travellers are not allowed to enter Australia. However, there are some exemptions which can be found here along with the process of applying for travel exemption.

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians?

Australia now welcomes travellers from India for quarantine-free travel, for fully-vaccinated visa holders only.

Airline Guidelines & Other Important Information:

Air India

Update for Testing and Quarantine-

International arrivals by air who are fully vaccinated must comply with the NSW Health Guidelines for All International Arrivals for 14 days.
They must have a rapid antigen test (RAT)within 24 hours of arrival and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. A second test on Day 6 test is strongly recommended.
All international arrivals by air who have a RAT result are no longer required to undertake a second confirmatory COVID-19 test. If they are in a managed (hotel) quarantine facility, they will be managed as a positive case. If they are isolating at home or in accommodation or if they are in the community, they must follow the advice in Testing positive to COVID-19 and managing COVID-19 safely at home.
International arrivals by air who are not fully vaccinated must enter a managed (hotel) quarantine facility for 7 days (the 7 days can be extended to 14 days if COVID-19 testing requirements are not met). Guidelines for All International Arrivals until it has been 14 days since they entered quarantine or self-isolation.

Quarantine and Testing Rules:

Check your quarantine requirements - Before you book your flight, check the quarantine and other arrangements for the state or territory to which you are traveling. Check domestic travel restrictions.
- Obtain your International/foreign vaccination certificate - If you were vaccinated overseas and you do not have an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate you must obtain a certificate from the country in which you received your vaccination. - If you cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons you must provide acceptable proof.
- Also check proof of vaccination requirements.
- Complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) at least 72 hours before your flight - All passengers arriving by air into Australia should complete the Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD).

Qantas

All passengers on Qantas and Jetstar international flights (aged 12 years and older) will be required to be fully vaccinated with a TGA-approved vaccine unless they have an exemption. Click here for more
As part of Federal Government requirements, customers on these flights will also be required to return a negative COVID test from an approved PCR testing site within 72 hours of departure.
Customers are advised to check the latest government requirements for the destination they are traveling to.
In line with Australian Government requirements, these initial flights are limited to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate families and parents. Click herefor more. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said it’s possible that Australia would reopen to international visitors before the end of the year.
These rules are subject to final confirmation from governments of both India and Australia.

Singapore Airlines

Entry into Australia

All fully vaccinated travellers can now enter most Australian cities without quarantine.
It is mandatory for all travellers to fill out the Digital Passenger Declaration(DPD). All passengers arriving in Australia should complete all parts of the DPD before checking in. The DPD requests critical health information. It is important that passengers enter their vaccination (all doses) information and COVID-19 test results in the DPD.

All Indian travellers are allowed to enter Austria if they can provide one of the following documents -
- A negative RT-PCR test report, with sample taken within 72 hours before arrival,
- or a negative LFT/antigen test with sample taken 24 hours before arrival,
- or valid vaccination certificate (in English) for fully vaccinated travellers,
- or a proof of recovery from infection issued at most 180 days before arrival. It must mention the date of recovery.
To be considered fully vaccinated, the last vaccine must be taken at least 14 days ago but not more than 270 days.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

Travel to Bangladesh is open for all visa holders from India as long as they carry an official proof of vaccination certification OR a negative RT-PCR test with samples taken not more than 72 hours before departure. Fully vaccinated travellers (Covishield & Covaxin accepted) do not have to quarantine. All others must quarantine at home or place of stay for 14 days after arrival. Anyone who has travelled through Botswana, Eswatini, Ghana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe in the last 14 days before travel can only enter if they undergo institutional quarantine (self-paid) for 14 days.

Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules:

Is COVID test mandatory before travel?

Travellers can enter Bangladesh with the official proof of vaccination certification or a negative COVID test report, with a sample taken within 72 hours before departure. The vaccination course must be completed no less than 14 days prior to arrival. Bangladesh recognizes WHO-approved vaccines (single/double dose as applicable for a full dose)
There is no requirement for children under 12 to present a negative RT PCR COVID-19 test result. Children under 12 should follow the same regime that applies to those family members they are travelling with, regardless of their vaccination status.
Travellers with COVID-19 symptoms may be required to take a PCR test. Those testing positive will be required to isolate at a government authorised facility for at least seven days and until they test negative in a subsequent PCR test.
In all circumstances, people staying in a government-approved hotel, government facility or hospital will need to cover the costs of those stays and any necessary COVID-19 tests. The Bangladesh authorities may retain the passports of any passengers in quarantine and will return them at the end of the quarantine period.

Airline Guidelines & Other Important Information:

Air India

Entry Eligibility, Testing & Quarantine Rules:

Travellers who have completed their full dose (single/double dose as applicable) of a WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine before 14 days of the travel date can enter Bangladesh without quarantine. They must carry official proof of vaccination.
Travellers who have not had their full dose (single/double dose as applicable) of COVID-19 vaccine can enter Bangladesh, as long as they undergo mandatory 14 days of home quarantine.
If any COVID-19 symptoms are identified in a traveller on arrival, he/she shall be sent to a government authorised hospital for further check-ups and must undergo 7 days of isolation at a government nominated facility or hotel on their own expenses if Covid-19 is detected. RT-PCR test will be carried out again after 7 days and he/she will be released when the test result is negative.
Anyone below 18 years old without vaccination can travel with their fully vaccinated family and they will have to observe the same health formalities that will apply to their family members on arrival.
All incoming travellers, except children below 12 years old, must carry a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test report. The PCR test shall be done within 48 hours before flight departure time.
Quarantine (institutional/home) formalities for the diplomats and their family members shall be as per the latest directives/decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh

Special rules for anyone who has visited/transited through Botswana, Eswatini, Ghana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe within the last 14 days:

Must complete mandatory 14 days of institutional quarantine at government nominated hotels at own expense.
RT-PCR test (self-paid) will be carried out on the 7th and 14th day of the quarantine.
Depending on the RT-PCR test result on the 7th day of the quarantine, COVID positive travellers will be separated for further isolation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the COVID negative travellers will continue their institutional quarantine for 14 days.
Depending on the RT-PCR test result on the 14th day of the quarantine, COVID negative passengers will be released.
Proof of hotel booking in Bangladesh must be presented by the travellers during check-in from the countries mentioned above.

Vistara: Please note: The information mentioned below is an airline specific information.

Passengers in possession of tourist visas shall not be allowed to travel to Bangladesh till further notice.
Present a valid vaccination certificate(s) (final dose) that reflects the completion of doses of vaccine approved by the WHO can enter Bangladesh with the official proof of certification of vaccination, provided with QR code System (passengers with a vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated more than 270 days (9 months) before arrival, should have received a booster dose ( no later than 9 months) to be considered as fully vaccinated )
Note: Passengers who are 18 years old travelling without vaccination can travel only with their family and observe the same health formalities.

Passengers Not vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccines or without having full dose (single/double dose as applicable for a full dose) of Covid-19 vaccine must carry a negative PCR certificate in printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a certified designated laboratory which is available on https://www.icmr.gov.in/, issued no more than 72 hours before departure. The certificate issued shall be duly signed and stamped by relevant authorities and must only be in English. Handwritten certificates shall not be permitted. 72 hours is calculated from the time of sample collection. The negative PCR certificate held by the passengers must have a QR code on it linking it to their original test report and must have the date and time of sample collection and the test result mentioned accurately. Passengers holding a negative PCR certificate without a QR code shall be denied boarding at the origin station.
Note: Children under 12 years are exempted from the pre-COVID test.
All passengers need to fill the Health Card. Click here to print the same and show at the time of check-in.

Quarantine Obligation

If COVID-19 symptoms are identified on arrival:

Irrespective of vaccinated or not vaccinated, if any COVID-19 symptoms are detected in a traveler on arrival, he/she shall be sent to Government Authorized Hospital/Facility for RT PCR test. If RT PCR test result is positive, he/she will be sent to isolation at government nominated facility or Hotel at their own expenses. Further RT PCR test will be carried out after 7 (Seven) days and he/she will be released when the test result is negative. Quarantine shall be ensured by the respective government agency(s) in charge.
Seamen shall be allowed to travel provided they are in possession of all necessary documents such as passport, CDC booklet, Guarantee letter, Ok to Board Letter and sign on to the ship maximum within 72 hours of their arrival.

When travelling to Dhaka, please note the below requirement:

“OK To Board” message is not required for the following categories of passengers for travel to Dhaka:

Passengers holding valid resident permits or passport stamped with Resident Visa.
Passengers eligible for “Visa on Arrival” irrespective of nationality.
Passengers travelling with a print-out of Business and Tourist e-Visa.

“Ok To Board” message is mandatory for the below categories:

All passengers holding ECR (Immigration Check Required) passport.
All passengers travelling with a print-out of labour and work e-visa.

Protector of Emigrants (POE)

Employment visa is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Indian citizens travelling on this visa with ECR (Emigration Check Required) stamp on the passport must carry a valid Protector of Emigrants (POE) Letter.

For customers from India to Dhaka

The following categories of customers will be allowed entry:
1. Bangladeshi Nationals
2. Non Bangladeshi Nationals holding any type of valid and/or pre-approved visa
Customers in possession of tourist visas shall be allowed to travel to Bangladesh
All customers arriving into Bangladesh are required to fill a self-health declaration form and submit the same to the health authorities upon arrival
All customers who are fully vaccinated with WHO approved vaccines (single/double dose as applicable for a full dose) are no longer required to be in possession of a pre-departure PCR while travelling to Bangladesh
Unvaccinated/partially vaccinated customers must carry a negative PCR certificate in printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a certified designated laboratory which is available on https://www.icmr.gov.in/issued no more than 72 hours before departure of the last direct flight to Dhaka. The certificate issued shall be duly signed and/or stamped by relevant authorities. 72 Hours is calculated from the time of sample collection
The negative PCR certificate held by the customer must have a QR code on it linking it to their original test report and must have the date and time of sample collection and the test result mentioned accurately. Customers holding a negative PCR certificate without a QR code shall be denied boarded at the origin station

Note: The following are exempted from pre-departure covid test

Children under the age of 12years
The certificate must be available in printed form to submit to health authorities upon arrival and shall be in English only, handwritten certificates are not permitted
All customers upon arrival shall be required to undergo mandatory 14 days home quarantine. However if any COVID-19 symptomatic passengers is observed/detected on arrival, he/she shall be sent to government authorized hospital for further formalities
Seamen shall be allowed to travel provided they are in possession of all necessary documents such as passport, CDC booklet, Guarantee letter, Ok to Board Letter and sign on to the ship maximum within 72 hours of their arrival
Visa on arrival shall be made available to the following upon arrival into Bangladesh
1. Foreign nationals of Bangladeshi descendant and their spouse & children;
2. Foreign citizen holding Diplomatic & Official passport;
3. Foreign Businessmen and Investors;
4. Foreign citizens joining in meetings/seminars/conferences/any other event invited by the Government of Bangladesh.

Travel to France is open for all Indian travellers if they meet the requirement.
Fully vaccinated travellers (with Covishield) must provide evidence of their vaccination status (vaccination certificate).

- The vaccination schedule is considered complete 28 days after receiving one dose of Janssen vaccine, seven days after a second dose of other vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (namely Pfizer/Comirnaty, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria/Covishield) and, for persons who have received all the required doses of a WHO-licensed vaccine not approved by the European Medicines Agency, seven days after receiving an additional dose of a duly approved mRNA vaccine.
- Since 1 February 2022, in order for their vaccination schedule to continue to be recognised as complete, persons aged 18 years or older wishing to enter French territory must have received a booster dose of messenger RNA vaccine no later than nine months after receiving the last mandatory dose.

Is COVID test/vaccination certificate mandatory before travel?

Non-vaccinated travellers or those vaccinated with Covaxin or any other vaccine have to carry a negative PCR test report which is not older than 72 hours however. (Travel permitted only for urgent/compelling reasons)
Those vaccinated with Covishield must either carry a negative RT-PCR test or an antigen test, with a sample taken within 48 hours before the planned time of arrival.
They must also carry a valid vaccination certificate with the following details: It must contain the personal data of the vaccinated person, date of vaccine, number of vaccinations, name of the vaccine, name of the vaccine issuer, passport number or date of birth. Reference to the Aadhaar number is not sufficient. The vaccination certificate must show that the final dose was administered at least 14 days and at most 270 days before departure post which a booster dose will be required for travel.
Children under the age of 12 who are not yet vaccinated can enter the Country with proof of a negative test result (PCR test or antigen test) when accompanied by at least one fully vaccinated parent. Children under the age of six do not require proof of a negative test result.

If the on-arrival test is positive, travellers must quarantine for 5 days at a designated temporary residence assigned by the authorities. Following the five (5) day period and if the symptoms have receded and the travellers are feverless for 24 hours without the use of antipyretics, they are released from quarantine. If the fever insists, the travellers remain in isolation until the fever has fully receded.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

Only HKSAR (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) residents, Hong Kong passport holders, and Hong Kong ID cardholders can currently travel on these flights as long as they are fully vaccinated. Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V are accepted by Hong Kong. 14 days must have passed since the final vaccine dose for a traveller to be considered fully vaccinated.

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians?

All travellers are subjected to go through the quarantine period for either 7 nights (if opting for early discharge from compulsory quarantine upon fulfilment of relevant conditions) or 14 nights (if not opting for early discharge from compulsory quarantine) in a designated quarantine hotel and undergo professional swab tests during the compulsory quarantine. If opting for early discharge from compulsory quarantine upon fulfilment of relevant conditions:
- Can be discharged earlier from quarantine and must leave the DQH if fully vaccinated and/or being accompanied by children under 12, and the results of the PCR test conducted on the 5th day and the RATs conducted on the 6th and 7th days are all negative;
- Self-monitor for the subsequent 7 days;
- Undergo compulsory PCR-based nucleic acid testing by professional swab sampling on the 12th day of arrival at Hong Kong in a community testing centre or at a local testing institution recognised by the Government.
If not opting for early discharge from compulsory quarantine:
- Can leave the DQH upon confirmation of negative results from the PCR-based nucleic acid test conducted on the 12th day and the RAT conducted on the 14th day
All travellers will have to undergo daily rapid antigen tests (RATs) during compulsory quarantine apart from PCR-based nucleic acid tests on the 5th and 12th days.
After the quarantine phase, the travellers must self-monitor for the next 7 days. They will have to go for compulsory testing on the 16^th day of arrival at Hong Kong (professional swab sampling at a Community Testing Centre (CTC), or a recognised local medical testing institutions; or conduct and submit a deep throat saliva test at specified collection points).
All travellers are subjected to go through compulsory testing on the 19th day of arrival at HK (must be conducted at a Community Testing Centre (CTC).

British Airways

Who can travel?

Entry criteria for Indian nationals:

Indian nationals with all valid visas, including tourist visas can travel from India to UK.
Indian nationals are not allowed to travel further to any other country (beyond UK), unless their spouse is a foreign national or they are a seaman travelling with authorised documentation from the Ministry of Shipping.

Entry criteria for nationals from UK and other countries:

Stranded UK nationals or residents can travel.
All other nationalities transiting through UK or spouses of these people, whether accompanying or not, can travel. Passengers travelling to Europe and USA, please note: ONLY passport holders and nationals of the destination country can board these flights. No other traveller will be allowed to board these flights.

Other Things to Remember:

Fully vaccinated/booster dose travellers must wait for the PCR test result at the hotel until a negative result is received. Travellers can then continue their trip throughout Indonesia (while waiting for the result, international travellers are not allowed to leave the hotel)
Non-vaccinated travellers and those who have received only one dose, at least 14 days before arrival, are required to quarantine for 5 days at any CHSE certified accommodations (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment). An RT- PCR test will be administered on day 4 and those testing negative will be released from quarantine on day 5 and will be required to self-monitor for 14 days.

Note – if the test is positive with moderate or severe symptoms, and/or with uncontrolled comorbidities, they will be isolated or treated at a COVID-19 referral hospital. The cost of the treatment will be borne by the traveller.

Present the EU Digital COVID Certificate on arrival. In order to enter Italy, all travellers are required to provide:
- a negative molecular swab test result within 72 hours prior departure or
- antigenic swab test within 48 hours prior to entry into Italy or
- a valid proof of full vaccination with EMA-authorised vaccine or
- a COVID-19 recovery certificate.
The certification of vaccination should be valid for 9 months after completion of the vaccination cycle or administration of the booster dose. Note: Italy accepts Covishield and EMA-approved vaccines.
The certification of recovery should be valid for 6 months for those who have recovered without having previously completed the vaccination cycle.
A negative result for molecular or antigen tests is not required for children under the age of 6 for entering Italy.
All travellers also need a Green Pass to access facilities and to attend events in Italy. Hence, it is advised to hold a Green Pass certifying that you have either of the above documents and you can enter or explore places in Italy. Some travelers might be asked randomly to take another molecular (RT PCR) or antigenic swab test on arrival at the destination airport.

Travelers with the necessary documents do not need to go in quarantine.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

Travel to Japan is currently open for Indians for ‘essential reasons’ only. There are exceptions for some travellers.

Before boarding, travellers must set “saving location information” in the “Google Maps” app (for Android) or “Settings” (for iPhone). This will be checked at the arrival quarantine.
All travellers must also install COCOA app on their smartphone. It alerts possibility of having contacted with COVID-19 infected persons, and can be active only in Japan.

Is COVID test mandatory before travel?

All travellers must carry a negative test result, with sample taken within 72 hours before boarding. Only Nuclear Acid Amplification tests will be accepted. These include RT-PCR, LAMP, TMA, TRC, SmartAmp, NEAR and CLEIA. No other testing methods will be accepted.
Test report must clearly mention the result, sample collection date, doctor’s signature, name of the laboratory and have an imprint of a valid seal. The language must be either English or Japanese.

Fully vaccinated travellers must carry a valid international certificate which the relevant information. Japan accepts two doses of Covishield to be considered fully vaccinated.

If you choose not to get tested, then it is mandatory to continue self-quarantine for 7 days.

  - Spouse/Child of a Japanese National who has departed Japan by 13^th May, 2021.
  - Spouse/child of a Japanese PR who has departed Japan on or before 13^th May, 2021.
  - Long Term Resident who has departed Japan on or before 13^th May, 2021.

Any traveller who tests positive on on-arrival test will be directed to isolate at home (for Kenyan residents) or in a Ministry of Health designated facility (for non-Kenyan residents) for 10 days, at their own cost. A repeat PCR test will be conducted on day 7.
All travellers displaying flu-like symptoms on arrival, or who develop symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days of arrival, may be placed into quarantine at home or at a government facility, at their own cost.

For fully vaccinated travellers, a digital Traveller's Card will be issued and for partially vaccinated/non-vaccinated travellers, a Digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO) will be issued.
In addition, they must complete a Health Declaration and Risk Assessment form at least 24 hours prior to departure.
All travellers must also get travel insurance with COVID-19 worth USD 50,000 (coverage throughout the entire stay in Malaysia). Malaysian citizens living abroad are exempted from this requirement.

Is COVID test/vaccination certificate mandatory before travel?

Pre-departure test:

No pre-departure test is required for fully vaccinated travellers if they are able to show a COVID-19 vaccination certificate proving that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival or that they were fully vaccinated and had also received a booster dose.
Partially vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers must carry a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test report taken not more than 48 hours before departure. It is advisable to carry both hard copy and soft copy of the test result. The pre-departure test is valid for travellers aged 7 years and above. 
Travellers with previous COVID-19 infection (6-60 days) before departure are required to undergo a professional RTK-Ag test 2 days before departure.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians. Children under the age of 2 years do not have to undergo a COVID-19 screening test at the airport.

On-arrival test:

Partially vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers arriving at the airport must undergo a professional RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arrival. The cost of the test will be borne by the travellers and children aged 12 years and below do not have to take the on-arrival test. 
Vaccinated travellers must carry a valid vaccination certificate.

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians?

Fully vaccinated travellers do not have to quarantine. The vaccination certificate must be verified at https://mysafetravel.gov.my/. More details can be found at https://mysafetravel.gov.my/vaccine/status

Travellers must have a mandatory health insurance proof for covering COVID-19 expenses.

Carry a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, showing that they were fully vaccinated with Covaxin or Covishield with at least 14 days that have passed since the final dose.
Children under 18 years of age are exempted from vaccination if they are travelling with fully vaccinated family members.
Travellers can also present a COVID-19 recovery certificate and a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that the travellers have received the first vaccine dose of Covaxin or Covishield, at least 14 days before arrival.
Travellers are subject to the COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.
COVID-19 testing (antigen test) will be required upon arrival at the hotel (day 0) for fully-vaccinated travellers. Travellers can explore the island after they receive a negative result from the antigen test on day 0.
Non-vaccinated travellers will need to undergo a PCR test on arrival (day 0), day 7 and on day 14 of the stay. If the PCR test is negative on day 14, travellers can freely explore the island or move to new accommodation.

Indian nationals who have been in India in the last 14 days before departure cannot enter Nigeria as per the latest travel ban. This does not apply to anyone transiting through India. Below guidelines are for passengers whose travel does NOT originate in India.
Travel is open for stranded Nigerian nationals/residents, any Indian national holding any type of valid Nigerian visa and destined for any country in Africa; foreign nationals destined for Africa and transiting through Nigeria or spouses of these persons (accompanying or otherwise).
Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed to travel subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping.

Effective from 14th April 2022, the nationals of India can obtain a free tourist visa upon arrival for the full period of Confirmed Hotel Reservation in one of the hotels in Qatar that are available through Discover Qatar Website only. The visa can be extended for a maximum stay of (60 days) if the hotel reservation is extended.

Is COVID test/vaccination certificate mandatory before travel?

Only fully-vaccinated travellers can enter Qatar who can show a valid vaccination report. Qatar accepts AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covishield, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax) or Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty). The vaccination must be administered at least 14 days and at most 9 months before arrival.
Note: Covishield is accepted without any conditions. Covaxin is accepted ONLY if the traveller carries a serology antibody test report with a positive result AND has had a dose of either Pfizer or Moderna after the 2 doses of Covaxin.
Non-vaccinated travellers are not allowed to travel to Qatar.
ALL travellers (fully vaccinated/recovered) must carry a negative COVID RT-PCR test report (with QR code) with sample taken within 48 hours before departure. They must also take a Rapid Antigen Test which will be done on the first day at the quarantine hotel after arrival.
Unvaccinated children below the age of 12 years travelling with fully vaccinated or recovered parent/s will follow the same rules that apply to their parent/s and are not required to have a pre-travel PCR test but only post-arrival test (Rapid Antigen Test) at the following locations:

Arriving travellers must install EHTERAZ application on their mobile phones.
Each traveller must complete a ‘Health Assessment Form for Returning Travellers’ before arrival.
Qatari nationals, their spouses and children and permanent residency holders can travel to Qatar any time, subject to adherence to conditions notified for COVID- 19 test and quarantine as per the countries they are coming from.
Residents must get a Return Permit through ‘Qatar Portal’.
Companions of GCC citizens will be granted immediate entry visa upon arrival in Qatar under the following conditions:
- The companion (house workers, or other similar companions) should be accompanied by the GCC citizens or one of their first-degree direct family members.
- The GCC country residency permit of the companion should be valid for at least six months.
- The travel document of the companion should be valid for a period not less than the validity of the entry visa.
- The occupation mentioned in the travel document of the companions must be ‘house workers’ or other related occupation. Payment of the applicable visa fees (QAR 100).
Government employees from the different ministries and governmental entities on official missions to these countries for a period of 72 hours or less will be subject to the current protocols that are approved by MOPH.
Eligible visa holders MUST be in possession of sufficient funds when travelling to DOHA on 'Visit Visa’ or 'Visa of Arrival’.
Following passengers are eligible to travel to Qatar in flights operating under Air bubbles/Air Travel Arrangements as notified by Ministry of Civil Aviation, India

Test Rules:

Must carry a COVID-19 PCR test report done within 48 hours before departure from testing centers approved by the local health authority.
Anyone transiting through Qatar must have the mandatory pre-travel PCR test as mentioned above. In case they require another PCR test for their onward destination, they can get it done Hamad International Airport by paying a fee of QAR 300/- per test. The PCR test result should be negative before boarding the aircraft.

Travel is open for:

Stranded nationals/residents of Rwanda, foreign nationals destined for Africa and transiting through Rwanda, or spouses of these persons, whether accompanying or otherwise.
Any Indian national or national of Nepal or Bhutan destined for any country in Africa and holding a valid visa for the destination country. It would be for the airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian/ Nepalese/Bhutanese nationals to enter the destination country with the particular visa category before the issuing of a ticket/boarding pass to the Indian/ Nepalese/Bhutanese traveler.
Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping. Seamen should be destined to countries of Africa only.

Is the COVID test mandatory before travel?

Only the travellers with a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test report taken no more than 72 hours before their initial flight can travel to Rwanda.
Travellers arriving at Kigali International Airport must present a negative Antigen Rapid Test taken 72 hours prior to departure (meaning travellers must be tested and get results within 3 days of their first flight).
COVID-19 Test is not mandatory for accompanied children under 5 years.
Incoming travellers eligible (aged 12 years and above) for the Covid-19 vaccine are encouraged to be fully vaccinated before their travel.
All Rwandan travellers eligible (aged 12 years and above) for the Covid-19 vaccine departing from Rwanda must be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means having two doses and a booster shot when eligible (administered 3 months after the second dose).
All travelers arriving or transiting through Rwanda will be screened upon entry and required to take a second RT-PCR test to confirm the negative results of the test done prior to arrival.
After the travelers reach their designated hotels, they will be tested for COVID-19 and there will be a medical team to assist for a total cost of 60 USD (includes 50 USD for the test and a medical service fee of 10 USD). For further information on the payment method for the COVID-19 test please click here . Test results will be received by SMS or email, and the turnaround time for results is 24 hours from the time a sample is collected. Upon receiving a negative test result, travelers will be invited to check out or may extend their stay in the same hotel at applicable hotel rates.
All travellers are required to wait 24 hours for the results of their COVID-19 test in a designated transit hotel.
Transiting/connecting travellers who are not leaving the airport for less than 12 hours will be screened upon entry and are not required to take a second test (This is not applicable for transiting travellers by land borders, in that case, travellers will be tested using RT-PCR test on arrival).

Is COVID test mandatory before travel?

Under the new scheme, the Vaccinated Travel Framework will replace the existing Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme. Travellers (Vaccinated and unvaccinated) will no longer be required to take only designated flights to enter Singapore.
Pre-departure test:
- Partially vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers must carry a negative COVID-19 test report, with samples taken within 48 hours before departure. The COVID test report must have a QR code that can be scanned at the airport.
Fully vaccinated must carry their vaccination certificates showing that 14 days having passed since the last dose. Certificates are not required to be digitally verifiable. Children aged 12 years and below are exempted from vaccination requirement. Check more details here.
Accepted Vaccines: Covaxin, Covishield. Check list of accepted vaccines here.
Non-fully vaccinated Long-Term Pass Holders aged 18 and above, and non-fully vaccinated Short-Term Visitors aged 13 and above are generally not allowed to enter Singapore. The exemptions include:
- Nationals and permanent residents of Singapore
- Foreign nationals with entry approval. Find more information here
- Travellers younger than 13 years who are not nationals of Singapore
- Travellers younger than 18 years with a Long-Term Pass or the respective In-Principle Approval (IPA)
- Travellers with a vaccination exemption letter
These travellers are required to take a pre-departure test within two days before departure for Singapore, undergo a seven-day stay-home notice (SHN), and take a PCR test at the end of their SHN period. Long-term pass holders medically ineligible for vaccines must hold an exemption letter.

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians?

Fully vaccinated travellers can enter Singapore on any flight without having to serve quarantine.
Non-vaccinated or partially travellers from India must quarantine for 7 days SHN at a declared place of accommodation. They can exit with a negative PCR test on Day 7.
Travellers who are: Long-term pass holders medically ineligible for vaccines, long-term pass holders aged 13 to 17, and long-term pass holders and short-term visitors with other valid entry approvals must undergo a seven-day stay-home notice (SHN), and take a polymerase chain reaction test at the end of their SHN period.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

Travel to South Korea is open for all Indian travellers, vaccinated and non-vaccinated, who would like to go for the purpose of tourism. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, South Korea has suspended visitor visa issuance.
Covishield, Covaxin are accepted.
A few exemptions to the border closure are in place for Korean visa holders, including 'K-ETA' for eligible travellers. More information here and here.

Are there any destination restrictions?

If you do not have a RT-PCR or RAT negative certificate or have a certificate which does not meet the requirements, you will not be allowed to board the aircraft.

Are there any pre-registration or app requirements?

The eligible travellers can now upload their information in advance here and save time. There are 3 major steps to complete –
- Prior to entry – Prepare passport, airline ticket, and RT-PCR test in advance.
- Prior to boarding – Upload information about passport, vaccination status, PCR screening, etc. and obtain a QR code.
- After arrival – Present this QR code to quarantine officer to receive quick quarantine services.
A Consent for isolation form must be completed and presented prior to boarding. More information here.
A printed copy of travel insurance with minimum coverage of approximate USD 25,100. - For COVID-19 related medical expenses. Carrying a physical copy is recommended. (The insurance requirement does not apply to nationals of Korea (Rep.) travellers with a long-term visa and those travelling with a quarantine exemption).
Long-term residents and visa holders must apply for a re-entry permit 4 business days before departing from South Korea here.

Travellers must install the self-quarantine safety protection mobile app here before departure or upon arrival. Those with vaccination certificate and quarantine exemption certificates are exempted from this requirement.
Travellers are not allowed to transit through Korea (Rep.) for more than 24 hours.
All travellers will be subject to health screening on arrival. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules:

Is COVID test mandatory before travel?

Pre-departure test:

All travellers must carry a printed copy of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. A supervised negative COVID-19 RAT result must be issued within 24 hours prior to the departure date.
The test result must:
- be in English, Korean or accompanied by a certified English or Korean translation; and
- have the name of the traveller, same as in the passport, the date of birth or passport/ID number and the name of the issuing laboratory; and
- specify the date that the test was taken.
Those who are exempt from the requirement of submitting a PCR(RAT) negative certificate:
Children under 6 as of the date of arrival (only if all the accompanying persons traveling with the child have submitted valid negative test results)
Individuals with quarantine exemption certificates for humanitarian (attending funerals) or official business reasons.
Individuals who departed from Korea for another country but were denied entry or otherwise did not go through with the entry procedure at another country before returning to Korea. This applies to both Korean nationals and foreign nationals, and the burden of proof is on the traveling individual.
Korean nationals who are infected with COVID-19 within 10 to 40 days of the departure date.
Long-term foreign residents in Korea (must possess more than one of the following: residence card, overseas Korean resident card, permanent resident card, ID card of a diplomatic mission in Korea or USFK Common Access) who are infected with COVID-19 in Korea within 10 to 40 days of the departure date.
Korean Nationals may instead provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This will require proof of a positive PCR test result, issued at least 10 days and not more than 40 days before arrival.
Travelers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificated showing that they were fully vaccinated with Covaxin or Covishield. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure and not more than 6 months (180 days). Thereafter, the vaccine certificate must reflect that a vaccine booster has been administered. The certificate must be registered in the Korean national system COOV. They must register at https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr/ and will receive a QR code which must be presented upon arrival.
Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm and Sinovac.

On arrival test:

A PCR test will be administered on arrival, this may be pre-booked here
Vaccinated travellers will be administered a rapid antigen test 6 to 7 days after arrival, at a public health center.

What are the quarantine guidelines?

Those with a valid international vaccination certificate are exempt from quarantine.
Other travellers are required to self-quarantine for 7 days on arrival at a government-approved facility at their own cost. Korean nationals and long-term residents may complete the quarantine period at their residence.
A COVID-19 test will be administered at the end of this period and those testing negative will be released. If tested positive, travellers must follow the instructions of health officials.
Exemptions to the quarantine requirement are for those traveling under special circumstances, like business or family bereavement.

Who can travel?

Entry criteria for Indian nationals:

Indian nationals with all valid visas, including tourist visas can travel from India to UK.
Indian nationals are not allowed to travel further to any other country (beyond UK), unless their spouse is a foreign national or they are a seaman travelling with authorised documentation from the Ministry of Shipping.

Entry criteria for nationals from UK and other countries:

Stranded UK nationals or residents can travel.
All other nationalities transiting through UK or spouses of these people, whether accompanying or not, can travel. Passengers travelling to Europe and USA, please note: ONLY passport holders and nationals of the destination country can board these flights. No other traveller will be allowed to board these flights.

Other Things to Remember:

Travellers must have a negative RT-PCR test report with a QR code to board flights departing from India. Test must have been taken 72 hours before departure.
They must also complete a Passenger Locator Form to board a flight to London.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

Travel to Sri Lanka is now open for all travellers from India. Travellers must have a valid tourist visa to enter Sri Lanka.
Fully-vaccinated travellers don’t have to get tested on arrival or quarantine and also are exempted from the pre-departure tests.
Non-vaccinated minors of eighteen years and below, who have obtained at least a single dose of a recognized vaccine will be considered as ‘fully vaccinated’ if the dose is taken at least two weeks before departure. Note: Children below 12 years of age are exempted from on-arrival tests.
Non-vaccinated travellers must submit an RT-PCR test before departure and take an on-arrival test and stay in a Tourism bio bubble for 7 days after arrival.

Procedures in relation to tourists traveling via Sri Lanka tourism

Tourists arriving via Sri Lanka Tourism are allowed to move between Safe & Secure Certified Level 01 hotels in a Bio-Secure Travel Bubble and are allowed to visit approved cultural and heritage sites.

Pre-Departure Requirements in general for all passengers -

Proof of Vaccination (Certificate) – After 14 days period has lapsed

The certificate must be English or certified copy in English for any information on the original which is not indicated in English.
The certificate must have the name of the vaccine and the dates of vaccination.
Other verifiable evidence of vaccinations, including electronic verification.
Children between the ages of 12 to 18 years, who have taken at least a single dose of a recognized vaccine for COVID-19 and completed 14 days after vaccination will have the same privileges as a fully vaccinated person

Past History of Covid 19 Infection

Travelers with a history of COVID-19 positive infection, which was detected between 7 days to 6 months, with at least a single dose of two-dose vaccine, and departing after 14 days of vaccination. however, must carry evidence of a previously positive COVID-19 test report.

Pre-departure Covid-19 Test

PCR test is done within 72 hours prior to departure or Rapid Antigen Test report within 48 hours (applicable to 12 years and above in age).
The PCR test result (negative) shall be in English or a certified translation of the document/test report with the original.

Health Declaration Form

Duly completed Health Declaration Form to be handed over to the Health Officer at the airport.
Separate Health Declaration Forms for each child accompanying the traveler.

Post arrival requirements -

1. Fully Vaccinated Passengers

For all fully vaccinated passengers (above 18 years of age) who arrive in Sri Lanka (All recommended doses of vaccination have been taken and 14 days have passed since the last dose of the vaccination till the date of arrival in Sri Lanka) shall be released from the airport without a Day 01/Arrival PCR test and no further Quarantine requirements.
Non-vaccinated children (below 18 years of age):

Children of Tourists or Foreign National Parents:

a. Passengers (age 12 to 18) to obtain a PCR Test on Day 01/Arrival from:

The Ministry of Health Approved laboratory at BIA Katunayake or,
A Quarantine Hotel; or,
A Safe & Secure Level 1 Hotel

b. If the Day 01/ Arrival PCR Test is Negative, shall be released with their parents without further Quarantine.

Children of Sri Lankan/Dual Citizens/Resident Visa holder parents

a. Passengers (age 12 to 18) to obtain a PCR Test on Day 01/Arrival from:

The Ministry of Health Approved laboratory at BIA Katunayake; or,
A Quarantine Hotel; or,
A Quarantine Centre (Sri Lankan & Dual Citizens); or
A Safe & Secure Level 1 Hotel

b. If the Day 01/ Arrival PCR Test is Negative, shall be released with their parents without further quarantine.

c. Unvaccinated children below 12 years whose parents are fully vaccinated shall be released with their parents for home quarantine.

2. Non-Vaccinated Passengers or not received the recommended doses of the vaccination

a. The quarantine period for all Non-Vaccinated passengers entering Sri Lanka shall be a total of seven (07) Days at a Quarantine Centre/ Quarantine Hotel/ Safe & Secure Certified Level 1 Hotel depending on the travel category.

b. Quarantine until completion of 14 Days of the final dose of vaccination OR completion of 07 days from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka; whichever comes first at:

c. If the PCR/ Rapid Antigen Test is Negative on completion of 14 days of the final dose of vaccination OR completion of 07 days from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka; whichever comes first, shall be released from Quarantine.

b. Sri Lankan/ Dual Citizens/ Resident Visa Holders –

a. Passengers (age 12 & above) to obtain a PCR Test on Day 01/Arrival from:

i. The Ministry of Health Approved laboratory at BIA Katunayake; or,

ii. A Quarantine Centre (Sri Lankan Citizens & Dual Citizens); or,

iii. A Quarantine Hotel; or,

iv. A Safe & Secure Level 1 Hotel

b. Quarantine until completion of 14 Days of the final dose of vaccination OR completion of 07 days from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka; whichever comes first at:

i. Home; or,

ii. A quarantine Hotel; or,

iii. A Quarantine Centre (Sri Lankan Citizens & Dual Citizens); or

iv. A Safe & Secure Level 1 Hotel

Additional Quarantine Note –

All passengers will be transported by Government Authorities or the relevant Hotel Management from the Airport to the place of Quarantine. (Designated Quarantine Hotel/Safe& Secure Certified Level 1 Hotel/Government Quarantine Centre).
If transferring from quarantine to home residence for home quarantine or hotel transfer (Fully Vaccinated Foreign Passport Holders), passengers must adhere to Ministry of Health Guidelines in force and shall not use any public transportation (bus service, trains, etc.).
After discharge/free from quarantine, passengers will be free to organize their own transport arrangements.

Indigo

Process for to those traveling as Tourists who are Sri Lankan Passport Holders or Foreign Passport Holders who have been Fully Vaccinated or Not Vaccinated

Fully Vaccinated

Customers under this category are required to have a valid tourist visa and must be applied online through eta.gov.lk
Customers under this category require no approval from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Civil Aviation Authority to Enter Sri Lanka
Customers must carry a negative PCR certificate in printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a certified designated laboratory which is available on https://www.icmr.gov.in/issued no more than 72 hours or a negative Rapid Antigen Test issued no more than 48 hours before departure of the last direct flight to Colombo. The certificate issued shall be duly signed and/or stamped by relevant authorities and must have a QR code on it. Handwritten certificates shall not be permitted. 72Hours or 48Hours is calculated from the time of sample collection respectively.

Customers are required to be in possession of a final vaccination certificate (should have completed 2 weeks after receipt of the recommended dose) of any covid-19 vaccine showing proof of being fully vaccinated at both departure and arrival airports

Customers with a past history of Covid-19 infection where the infection was detected between 7 days to 6 months before the date of departure with at least a single dose of a two-dose vaccine shall also be exempted from pre-departure RT-PCR or RAT test. They are mandatorily required to carry verifiable evidence of a previously positive Covid-19 report.

Fully vaccinated customers of all age groups shall not be required to undergo a PCR test on arrival
Non vaccinated children under the age of 12 years shall be exempted from on arrival PCR testing
Non vaccinated children of 12 – 18 years shall be required to undergo a PCR test on arrival

Not Fully Vaccinated – Customers who have not taken both doses of the vaccine or not completed 14 days after receipt of the final dose is considered not fully vaccinated

Process for minors (below the age of 18 years) and caretakers of children or passengers with special needs

Customers below the age of 18 years who have obtained at least 1 dose of recognized vaccines and have completed two weeks shall be considered fully vaccinated and be exempted from pre-departure PCR and RAT requirements
Customers below the age of 12 years are exempted from the pre-departure covid test

Pre-departure test: Regardless of vaccination status or citizenship, all travellers must have a negative COVID-19 test report (with QR code) conducted within 1 day or 24 hours before departure. Anyone who has recovered from COVID-19 can travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e. carry positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight’s departure AND a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that they are cleared for travel). It is mandatory for all passengers to carry COVID test reports which have a QR code on them that can be scanned at the airport.

Post-arrival test: All travellers must take a viral test 3-5 days after travel.
Information for those who have recovered from COVID: CDC (Centre for Disease Control & Prevention) does not recommend getting tested again in the 3 months after a positive viral test as long as the traveller is not showing any symptoms. So anyone who has a positive viral test in the last 3 months and has met the criteria to end isolation, has a copy of their positive result and has a letter from a doctor/ health department saying they are clear for travel can board flights to US. Travel to Uzbekistan is open for all Indian travellers who already have a valid visa as Uzbekistan Embassy is currently not issuing fresh visas.

Vaccinated travellers must carry a valid vaccination report against COVID-19.
Non-vaccinated travellers are subject to present a negative RT-PCR report against COVID-19, test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Uzbekistan.
These tests are not required for travellers below 12 years of age.
Some of the travellers may be asked to go through an on-arrival test. If tested positive, they will have to follow the quarantine regime.
All the above documents/certificates must have a QR code.

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians?

Travellers with a valid vaccination report or negative RT-PCR test do not have to quarantine.
However, if any traveller tests positive in on-arrival test, then they must quarantine.

Fully vaccinated travellers must carry a valid vaccination certificate showing they are fully vaccinated. There is no need to present a COVID‑19 test. Zambia accepts Johnson & Johnson, Covishield, and Pfizer Biotech.
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers must present a negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure to Zambia.
Travellers could be subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival at their own expense.
Children under 12 years are exempted from these tests.

What are the quarantine guidelines for Indians

Fully-vaccinated travellers do not have to quarantine.
Travellers may have to self-isolate for 14 days, if they test positive on arrival.
